In 2019, Andy set out to build a personal home but found that the high-end homes available in the Louisville market were largely traditional and lacked distinctive character. With the guidance of his mentor, Buddy Cox—one of the top luxury home builders in the area for decades—Andy founded Black Label Builders in 2021. Since then, the company has established itself as a premier luxury home builder in Louisville, known for creating unique, one-of-a-kind residences that stand apart from the rest.
Beyond his work in home construction, Andy Simmons has an extensive background in the marine industry as one of the top-performing yacht brokers in the country. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Off the Hook Yachts, the world’s largest yacht wholesaler, where he holds the position of Executive Vice President. With over 20 years of experience in the marine sector, Andy has built a reputation for excellence. Previously, he served as President of Sales at HCB Yachts, helping drive the company’s annual sales beyond $100 million.
His experience in custom-building some of the world’s most exclusive yachts—collaborating with both European and U.S.-based shipyards—has deeply influenced his approach to luxury home design.
